If it is a nice standard car with no major issues that sounds like a good deal. Get the car properly checked on a ramp and carefully scrutinise the service history, there is a lot of 'wrongness' about.

the car is totally standard and its had an e36 tensioner fitted.he doesnt drive it often and refuses to let rain touch it.I just aint to sure of the valuation for the car. On ebay they seem to go for around 5.5k

A ceccotto is more desireable and valuable than a standard M3 you will not get a good one for Ԛ£5500 especially off ebay, that known clearing facility for wrong turds . When i say good i mean a car that needs no more than Ԛ£1000 to make it mechanically and cosmetically excellent, trust me that eliminates most of them out there !.

on the button pete as always!!

this is very good advice
i know of a standard 215 hp car which was in near mint condition 50k miles just fetch 12k
worth it imho as there is so much shat out there most of which is described as mint!!!

if the car is really really good and neads very little then it could make 10k plus at right time of year to right man

but as pete says check history carefully check all known weak spots and check its authenticity
a lot of the special editions have been broken for spares and its not difficult to screw a plaque onto the centre console
not in this case i doubt unlessits had a full paint cuz its macau but you get my point
also learn differences between cecotto and standard cars to make sure nothing is missing

i paid Ԛ£7900 last year for my cecotto which was a rough diamond , ive had the engine out & for oil leaks & done the chain ,new shocks & a/roll bars, refurbed the wheels treated various rust spots & painted the front splitter all myself so no labour bills , she's gorgeous now & i wouldnt let her go for less than Ԛ£9800 , i was at the gaydon show the other month anyone see it
