Well i'll disagree and agree with this seller they can be a f**king royal pain to put on and i've bent a key in the past p!ssing about with them

The key is to lube the rubber O rings a touch, if you have had a set refurbed and the paint is on thick fitting the covers can be a right pain with new seals.

So the problem does exist.

I have come across a few that have been very very stiff, it's a royal pain when the key is hard to turn, esp as si says when you have new O rings and refurbed wheels

I think for £20 posted it's better than a snapped key and a flat tyre on the hard shoulder

Are you the seller?

I doubt Si has time to make these, or have them made. He's too busy with 3 genuine Alpina's in different states of repair!

I would listen to this guy when he's talking Alpina, if nothing else

I only had a problem with my caps when I first got the wheels. A bad refurb. Had them done properly and all good since. I personally have no need for the tool....

well 2 of mine are an absolute barsteward to get on,it takes at least 20min of fiddling about even though mine were refurbed 3yr ago, ive tried lube on the o rings,this tool is a good idea imo,but i think the handle could be thicker/longer.time to make one i think.

Looks like a good idea that tool and I hope it works. It states that it's for 17" 18" & 20" Softline wheels. It might not work on your 16" wheels. Now you've seen the leverage principle can't you just find some similar tool to use?

Problem only exists on a sh1t refurb, where too much paint/powdercoat has been used.
As stated above somewhere, if done properly, should be easy to come off and put back on.

Mine are powder coated and fine. But before the refurb one was out of shape which caused this problem.

So this tool is for the bigger new rims? I've got 17 inch softlines the way the cap mounts is different to the E30 wheels i've learn't but they go on ok. Theres just a knack to doing it!

The tool is a good idea i think, but i'm not buying one. If your a wimp then it might be a good idea as it takes the effort out of it all.

Once it's on, the key will be tight to turn, and what is then used to pull of the cap??? whens it's on tight , the key?? again??

The seller mentions nothing about it being for refurbed wheels.

I said that in my experience the caps can be difficult to fit after a refurb if the paint is on thick. Which is true. I'm not sure where your going on this Chav

The seller knows that Alpina c0cks are a special breed of freak and is making lots of till serving them a bit of bent wire that they can display in their claybarred gloveboxes at the next Buchloe bumfest !

I see it the other way around Rav, sometimes the locks can be hard to undo, a little bit of pressure on the cap makes it open/turn easier, hence my post about keys snapping !

But that's the lock undone easily, what about getting the tight cap out then?

Well if the tool. Take note of the word "tool" here helps get the caps on, then logic of some sort would mean it helps get the caps back off.

Not really.

The "Tool" only looks to help the cap on, not remove it.

the best way to avoid Alpina cap problems is to throw the shite soft alloy rimz in the bin and buy "proper" Hartge wheels ...

brand new caps are still available for these at reasonable prices !

Surely if the tool holds the cap tight in one place it would make it easier to undo and lock in position ?
