E30 Zone

What's the point in opening up another e30 forum? Especially with the tag line "The Best Online E30 Community". How can you say that. I've not been a member here very long and I really disagree with some recent changes but wtf are you guys doing. If there really is need for another e30 forum then fine but I think this is just splitting the community for the sake of some petty arguments.

in fact the community is just trying to find a way to keep it all together mate. dont say uԚ´ve only ever eaten mac donalds, and wouldnt ever try a bit of kentucky fried chicken?

as for a waist of time, i dont think its a fair comment, even the zone started from nothing, it took dedicated members and alot of time invested to make it the giant it is now.

the trick is keepint the ballance mate, which is what the planet is trying to perfect.

we need to welcome the competition, will keep this place fresher for defo

The Planet wasn't created to act as competition to the Zone at all. It is an alternative place for people to visit and express themselves.

Being actively involved in both forums it is becoming very apparent that people are visiting both which never has been or never will be an issue. There isn't a us and them mentality amongst any of the mods or admin of either forum so why should there be with the users.

The last thing I think Adam or any mods here want to see is the Panet being slated and visa versa, Wayne, Dazzle or Myself etc do want any slating of the Zone on PlanetE30.

We should all just live in harmony and get along as no one is out to spite anyone else especially as we all love E30's.

Work wont let me onto the "planet" but it will let me visit the "zone". So no choice really....(but i think its better that way!)

firstly i would like to say here here to ants comment

and now an explanation of sorts

the planet forum was not set up in an attempt to cause trouble or destroy the zone as some people seem to think
the reason we started it, is we had got a little p*ssed off with the amount of arguing that was going on also we did not agree with the classifieds being locked but at this stage that is now irrelevant so i,ll leave that 1 alone as theres no needto keep dragging it up.

i want it known that no 1 on the team has any problem with the zone at all and we are all active members still and i dnt see that changing,
but as has been said this is an e30 thing nothing personal just another site for e30 enthusiasts/owners.
i dnt see it that were in competition at all

i see no reason why there cnt be more than 1 site???

i just hope that the members and admin/moderators can all put any differences aside and get back to what really matters our passion for the e30s

More resources are always helpful.

Just fed up of seeing bitchy comments - drop the hostility

I've just joined cause i wanted to have a look around the site. It feels strange though. Almost as if i'm cheating on my partner. Dont worry darling E30Zone. I will always be true to you. Sad i know, but i love this place Saying that, there's nothing wrong with a bit of after hours activity. It keeps the reationship stronger

Phew. things haven't got too heated here. I've really got to learn to stop spouting off when I come home pissed. Sorry dudes.

I made the post and I do actually stand by the veiw that I (personally speaking) am not a fan of splitting things up. But as Ant said it will keep the zone on its toes.

I'm also disappointed that now I have to check two places to get my e30 fix. I never was a fan of forums in the first place (I like email based things) but hey ho life goes on and all that.

Didn't mean any offence to anyone, I'm actually in support of most of the views that were catalysts for the Planet in the first place.

So, peace and love to all! but I'd still like to see one zone cos it's easier for lazy people like me who can't be arsed to check two sites.

I know what you mean hoshy. I've just checked the site and it was like looking at the twin of the Zone. Mostly the same people and the same topics. It is a shame that things got to the point that some people felt so strongly about what was happening on the Zone that they had to form a break away (If you can call it that) but i can perfectly understand why it has happened. I do hope as said, things dont become a us against them thing cause that's not what's needed and it wont do anyone any good. At the end of the day, choice is good, so it's up to the individual to use whichever site they feel more comfortable with

i have just signed up and it seems that all the people there are from here anyway so it pretty much defeats the object why cant we all just kiss and make up this way it would save time posting the same ting on 2 different forums

Yep. Like Paul says, it's all the same peeps from here that have registerd there anyway. Lets face it though, with the recent events on here, it was only a matter of time before this happened.

I think it's admirable that PlanetE30 was set up in preference to filling this site with complaints... nobody had to say "if you don't like it do it yourself". (not that I'm suggesting anyone would have done)... they went and did it anyway. Good luck to the Planet and the zone.

These two forums may look like twins, but they have different personalities...

Oneblueleg you're missing my point. I'm sure no one thinks all this is real life cause i'm sure we're all quiet aware of what's important in our lives. My post was more in keeping with the fact that i've been here so long that it feels kinda strange looking at another site which is more or less the same. I was one of the original people who was really upset with the way things were being done here, and had i been asked at the time, i probably would have left and helped in the set up of the new site, but i didn't and that's that. I dont look at the other site as some kind of monster and i will be visiting there to see what's going on and if there's a topic i like then i'll post on it so chill buddy

E30 Planet is tooo slow. Takes 5-10 secs to load each page

Like e30tech and bwe30.net just about still exisits! to name but two!

There's a whole world of e30 forums out there, go on guys expand your horizons, you'll learn many wierd and random things. But there is nothing like home....

I don't think the 2 forums can really be compared. Planet is like a copy of loaded, to the zones's GQ

Everyone has their own opinions and views but I dont feel the need for a 20+ post on the subject as it will only get out of hand like the locking of the classifieds.

on the other hand people should be able to express their feelings if they want to even if it does piss a few people off, whats the point in everybody agreeing with each other all the time what sort of community would this be if they did. there would be no need fo this site at all.

Best of both worlds me thinks..?? I agree, if there is another way of expressing your thoughts without too much hassle, i'm up for that. The beauty of these sites is that it gives each person the freedom to choose..
