Spacers or not?? opinions please

I have fitted these to my e30 but part of me says i need spacers and the other part says dont bother.They are 16x7j et42
What do you think??

Id go with 20mm spacers.

they need spacers... badly! et42 on a 7j wheel!

I reckon you'll rub with 20mm spacers on 17's, maybe 15mm more adviseable.
This is mine with 16" x 7.5" ET38 without a spacer. (bear in mind mine is a chromie so has higher rear arches) Car is on a -55mm drop front & rear in these pics
This is with 20mm spacers, so taking it to ET18

I have just ordered some 20mm hubcentrics so will see how it goes.The more i looked at it the more it bugged me as they just sat in too far.
my wheels are 16x7 et42 and its lowered 40mm at the rear.I have looked and 20mm look like they will still fit ok.
