Can you no longer place an ad for free on Piston heads?

Only if you have been a member/poster for a certain amount of time. "think" prior to 2009ish. But stand to be corrected.

I recommend it. I had a deposit less than 24hours after putting up the advert!

Tbh every car i have listed on there i have sold it within a week or so
Wouldnt bother me if i had to pay for the privelage now
When looking for a car its the first place people look
Doesnt suprise me they now charge

Edit ... Just checked , When i goto list a private advert
I get the option just before listing of premium or standard
Standard advert is still free ??

Its £9.99 now I think, no more free ads. Replies are good on this site, and if you have to sell a car, worth it. Saves all the nonsense Ebay makes you put up with!

I went to advertise on there, a few weeks ago, asked me for £9.95, I decided not to, instead sold it on E-Bay.

Choose the private option, it is free. 3 pictures. I did it not long ago, never asked me for member details.

It's only free if you've been on PH since jan 2009

ive never paid for ph ads and i joined march 2009. just select standard advert and you get 3 free pics, then after the ad has been approved photobucket more pics into you ad. if you publish them with pbuck it will be put on minus those pics. worked for me 4 times!
premium adverts cost more but you go higher up the search list, however if youre after the right car youll scour the whole of that particular cars section anyway not just the premiums. most of the prems are dealer ads, standards are for the poor people who drive e30s and what not :D

There must be a certain loyalty reward as I can post a premium ad for free...
