Pushes into place Imy, spray some ?WD40 onto it and it'll go in with a bit of force.

Your's must be a cab then, if so, you can glue it back on, sticky pads tend to come off in the heat.

I think Loctite do a little kit with pad/glue etc to fix the mirror back, on, I bought one years ago, sure you can still get them.

Isn't there a piece that needs to be bonded to the windscreen that the mirror then clips into or something? I only ask as my Dad's cab came with the mirror in the glovebox and a poxy halfords thing stuck to the screen, and someone I asked at the time said that it was like this. We haven't bothered looking into it properly yet. I assumed it had had a replacement screen and some oaf hadn't bothered putting it right.

yes, the mirror fixing that the arm/stem clips onto.

conv. screens are unique in that there is a "hole" where the mirror fixing attaches (so i learned today from B7).
i have my convertible mirror in the glovebox, as the screen has obviously been replaced with a non-conv. one. i recently fitted a replacement screen to my Touring and i only had a conv. one available, and it still has the mirror fixing on the glass (so it looks like i'll be doing a windscreen swap over very soon)
