Hey guys,
What sort of fuel economy do you get from your E30? Around town, on the motorway, etc etc. Say what sort of E30 you have as well, since a 325i Touring will probably be vastly different from a 316i coupe.

17 MPG while commuting on the country roads

Easily 22mpg on the motorway, 24 if I'm being a saint.
OBC figures, but seem accurate when I bother to check properly
325i Touring, original unrefurbished injectors.

Mines about the same as above^^ i think i get more in the motorway but u have no way of proving it... I just try n keep the MPG needle as close to 30mpg as possible
E30's don't do fuel economy well... 316's are probably the best for fuel

325i Touring
On a recent 180 mile trip i got a genuine 30mpg mostly motorway & probably 70 miles of A road, this was being very careful on the throttle but still keeping up with the traffic very nicely thank you
I also just towed my 800kg caravan 130 miles & got a measured 20mpg ..................... got to be happy with that .

Well mines usually terrible... But wehn we went to The German Show. I filled up at a petrol station down there, and did the return drive of 149 miles... Then once home, the next day I drove to the petrol station about 2 miles from mine and it cost £24.16... 136.9 a litre at that station too
38.9 MPG
320i Auto!
I did the valve timing on her last weekend but must have made a mistake as its running crap now and very lumpy when at lights so I bet i'm getting no way near that now... Will be sorted again saturday.

In my m20 325i through my trip to work and back, plus occasional spirited driving varies anything usually 20-30mpg, so average about 25mpg.

Exactly, if you're getting over 20 MPG you're doing it wrong

or really if your getting below 20 mpg theres something seriously wrong with you and your engine unless you sit in central london all day every day.

My current milage is in my sig..
Got a website called sprintmonitor.de which is good for tracking costs/mpg etc
Its a 2.0 m20 touring with a manual box- Completely stock..
This is the MPG since it went back on the road as a daily.
Car is used approx 80% m8 motorway driving to/from work or the unit, and 20% town use.
On this year's Roam, it gave 29mpg, whilst not hanging about

I think your maths are out Neil
Anyway, I'm off to buy a Honda civic, seems they have better fuel economy than an E36 touring(now for sale), lol!

If you're getting that kind of MPG from an IS you're driving like a wee lassie

That I am, or rather my "Wee Lassie" is..
Its not a fast car, it doesnt sound good, so why thrash it?
End of the day, getting nearly 500 miles out a tank is not too shabby

Ok, ok - point proven - if your input is genuine, lol!

It Certainly is- Some months I chew through more petrol money than rent on the flat

Damn unit is so far away..
As for the honda, the 1.5 vtec aint too shabby- does it need to be estate?

Engine is just fine, and gets good economy when I'm not thrashing it - but my commute is short and quick so it gets a lot of hammer. I'd think 17mpg to be about the worst figure you can expect.

I've only an 8 mile drive to work every morning, then the same 8 miles back. Seeing as it's just down the A5 and back I find it really hard to not give it a good thrashing. This is when I end up under 20mpg.. but if I try and stick to just 80mph and not overtaking every single car... I can squeeze out a few extra miles.

38mpg on the motorway doing no more than 90 for 100 miles, in 6th
I cant be arsed to check it much, especially when I drive it properly, but I can get it down to 200 miles per tank

(63 litre tank)

About 18mpg when I treat the pedal like it's made of thin glass. About 12 when I drive it 'normally'.
M20B20 auto. Don't buy one. Ever.
Soon to be replaced by an M30, which will probably be as thirsty, but at least fun..

18-20 normally on a 10 mile trundle over the speed humps of south london in to Aldgate vs 28mpg on my 520d. 29.9mpg on a lazy 70mph trip to whitstable was a real relief!

The only time I ever checked it worked out at 27mpg. Bit of town driving, long motorway trip, 120 (indicated, it overreads) a couple of times.

i've been driving 325's for a long time and had a fair few knackered ones and never in a month of sundays had less than 23mpg out of them.
