ive been toying with the idea for some time, to stick a e36 digital console ( i know it also has its issues) and hvac box in my one complete with woring ac,

can this be done?, il probably need to work out looking at e36 wiring and e30 wiring which goes where, try and retrofit the pipes leading to the vents, and see if i need to make up new mounts for the hvac box, actual control unit, and fitting ac to an m40 engine,

other idea was to find a e36 318is donor change the engine, and everything over to e30 :?

for some reason i just really really like digital shit, which is why ive put every e30 optional extra i could get my hands on in my car, heated seats obc, map mirror etc etc... i hate having a low spec car!

im looking to replace the matrix and sliders soon as there leaking anyway,

been searching for ages if anyone else had done this, found no threads at all, all i found was the pic below, with a e46 one...

This would be pretty damn slick (in a 90s way) but it's a kick in the face of retro! I wouldn't even change my analogue clock to digital, let alone put the trip computer in there (despite being hugely curious as to my fuel consumption!).

To each their own but I would bet you're the first to try this!

 changing the analogue clock was the first thing that came out in my one, the 13 button obc is very nice to have and is a bit more accurate than the gauge, so you know how much fuel you have left, its a nice feature !

It will be a complete and utter waste of time, the E30 AC system is just as good if not better than the E36, the E36 needs more ECU feedback and you will also have to hack up the bulkhead and dash.

Analogue clock FTW

im thinking of going down the m44 route anyway, so i might just transport the lot straight in, than mixing it with the m40, i defo wanna do it though, think a straight swap of the lot would be a bit easier...

il figure out a way, 8)
