www.howmanyleft.co.uk

Sorry if it's been posted before. I only heard about it this week. Enter the car make and model, and see the stats for how many are still on the road (or sorned). Obviously searching for BMW 325i or BMW M3 gives corrupted numbers due to later (non-E30s) having similar descriptions, but there's some easily filtered out. "BMW 325 Touring" brings up a fair old list - but the last two lines show models dating back to 1994 so I guess these are E30s? Only 333 manuals left!

Some other (non BMWs) are easier to find. Ford Xr2? 97,000 in 1994 - now fewer than 650..

The Simca UK owners club must have poor turnouts too - not one model surviving with double figures..

5 Talbot Ranchos survive though!

439 325i sports. IIRC only e30's came in 325i sport flavor. It then became 328i sport etc?

That's not a lot!

lux's were 4 pot SE's and were a run out model from the factory in 1990/1 before saloon production stopped, BMW specced them up to help them shift.

The Lux's have "Lux" on the V5 and thats what that website goes on in terms of model descriptions, whats on the V5 issued by the DVLA.

Not all E30 325i Sports have "Sport" on the V5 log book though so the figure given is inaccurate.

my ford escort 1986 laser 2 only made in 85 and 86

1986 (same as mine)
9 on the road 3 sorn 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

and 1985 5 on road 12 sorn

so the laser 2 theres only 14 on the road and 15 sorn- 29 in total in the country, thats a rare car then !!! and the laser 2 auto - theres only 1 in existence !!

compared with rs1600i - 65 on road and 253 sorn

It's only as accurate as the data that the DVLA hold, as it uses their figures. So if you search for Ford Escort, that will include Mk1, Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 and Mk5. It's just not as detailed as us petrolheads would like.

It all depends on what you search for. It's great for showing up disappearing classics like a Vauxhall Viva (which are entered as 1256 or 1300, because of the DVLA data), but a bit pointless for these high-volume cars which carry the same name/code across generations.

When you find a car, click on the result and you get a breakdown of the data into years of manufacture. For example, E30 325's were made from 82-94, so if you want really accurate info, you have to put in something vague like "325", then click on EVERY result and tally up on your own how many cars from those years are taxed or SORN.

But with 80 matches for "325", you can do your own maths, I'm not doing it for you!

My daily driver is a Suzuki Swift GLS (until the E30 is back on the road) and only 480 1997 registration swift gls were taxed and on the road so far this year.

My Spec E30 will be single figures in the UK, maybe even the only one, never know.

On the road last year:

E28 525e - 256
E28 M525 - 138
Metro Vanden Plas - 94
E30 M3 - 92
E30 325 Sport - 483
E30 318is - 555
Vauxhall Cavalier GLS - 2360*

Figures include both manuals and autos in each case. M3 figure seems a bit low to me.

*Not 1.8, V6, 16v, Diesel, or auto
