Hi Comp engines

Does anyone know what extra bhp difference there is in an early pre face lift 325 over the later 325 engine.
Someone else made a similar comment on here a while back and the forum regulars assured that the difference has much more to do with the difference between the Motronic versions than the compression.kevo wrote:big difference in they way they drive though certainly a big diff between my previous high comp and my current lower one.

I dunno, I was just repeating what someone else said in a previous discussion about the difference between high / not so high comp motors. supposed to be a step forward, on a pre facelift engine.
It's a big step forward, best thing you can do to a high comp is fit 1.3. 256K1 Compression ratio of 8.8:1 (late motronic, cat prepped or with a cat)
For UK cars,
256E1 sept '85 to sept '87
256E2 sept '87 to june '88
256K1 june '88 to end of production.
apparantly it only makes a differance if you switch from 1.1 to 1.3 motronic and also high comps are more tuneable.djsimmy wrote:mine is high comp not sure what diffrence it makes lol
