Howdy doody :)

Hi Guys,
Thought i'd introduce myself. I've just bought myself a fairly tidy 318i lux auto, and am quite chuffed with it (although its not on the road yet, cos i'm not wasting a months worth of tax for a matter of a few days - i only picked it up on Saturday).
I've had a couple of E36's in the past, but really love the old 'skool' look of the E30!
Managed to get it for a whole £800 too

(with 12 months ticket!)

Hey, very tidy original looking car. Well done!
Do you have plans for it? Hopefully, you are what we call an 'oem homo' here on the 'zone (i.e. you are fastidious about keeping things 100% original).
On the other hand, you might be planning a 'drop it to the floor' look - either way, it's your car, your choice etc. Hope you enjoy it whatever you do. They are fabulous cars!

No more pics yet, just that one from my phone. It needs a few bits doing, and the paintwork looks better on the pic than in real life, but i'll be t-cutting/wax/polishing over the next few days so should look a bit brighter.
Been putting in my sub and amateur radio (hence the aerial on the roof), but still got lots more to do (partly getting rid of the 80s smell!!

)

Yeah, although a bit of it is just old men ranting!! I'm 34 myself and still enjoy it though. What you can't see just to the right of the picture is the 33 foot vertical antenna attached to my shed, horizontal dipole and colinear antenna on the chimney

Oh, and not sure yet on the plans. First, i just want to get it in better shape than it is. It needs some new speakers - gonna remove the rears totally, and amp the fronts (already got the amp, but need the speakers - mine are too big).
Gotta sort out the front fog light lens (may as well do both if i can afford it so they look the same) and look at the hunting on idle issue.
After that, who knows - although i do quite like the oem look.

It never goes away completely

.
Check all intake hoses for leaks regarding the hunting idle. Good luck and welcome to the zone.

I'm in Newton le Willows, which is just outside of Warrington.
I've been looking around here about the idle issue, and did spot the posts about the intake pipework - it's the first thing i'm gonna be looking at (probably tomorrow). Could do with some new brake fluid/pads too i think, tis a bit soft on the brakes.

OK, cool - i'll probably have it off within the next week or so (depending on my shifts).
Won't be able to do it at weekend unfortunately as i'm off to Oulton Park for the weekend (camping and BTCC - good combination!)
