Quick S14 related question...

Seriously having to consider selling the S14 that I bought to put in the 318IS :( due to relocation of both home and work and needing cash! Complete engine inc throttles and airbox exhaust manifold.
I bought it to strip and rebuild with new seals, tensioner, gaskets and shells (basically a standard unit) but time and money have conspired against me. If it's not worth much i'll hang on to it so the question is.....

What's it worth? And is it worth stripping it and selling the bits seperately?

(Oh, car had done 108'000 miles and motor was heard running)

About 2k average, I assume was it a runner when you got it, as they are expensive to rebuild most people would prefer a engine they can see running, dyno plots, compession test etc, Complete running good sets ups inc box have gone for 4K

Blackpotato is after one.

As for parts again it's about 2k in bits if you get decent money for them all.

Thanks for that.
I bought the unit some time ago from a long term BMW
enthusiast and the engine was from one of his two current
E30 M3's. Although I have no dyno sheets or the like it ran
fine with good pressure and temps.
There is no ECU, front loom or alternator and whilst I appreciate
that split, cleaned and sold separately that parts could net in
the region of £2k, I didn't pay anywhere near that 2years ago
and don't have time on my side.

So, I was thinking of advertising at around the £1k mark but is
that reasonable?

I don't last year it took me 9 months to sell a fresh rebuilt engine, let it go for 2k in the end less the manifolds & ancillaries.

if your after 1k for it ,
then stick it on ebay with a 1k starting price you will be very suprised at the end result !

I sold a good running early S14 last year with no guarantees for £2350 on ebay,

this one is slightly more expensive 8O
