would it not make more sense to submit it to Adam and put it in tech articles on the zone? or publish it on line and put a link and make it sticky?
just a suggestion to save you emailing everyone under the sun!

Probably won't be allowed in the Tech Article section as it isn't stricktly E30 related, suprised this thread hasn't been locked already

lol danstable!
Can I get the guide please to
hoshy@hoshy.co.uk thx
But it should be submitted to the tech article section. If the z3 shifter (an e36) can make it in then so should this

Why, do you want to put E36 switches in???
The newer switches are no where near as good, a few years ago i had to take all of the switches out (windows, sunroof, autobox sport/eco) take them apart and solder in new tiny bulbs because they had all burn out.
The E30 switches are so tough, even the window motors are stronger, mine are still as quick as they would have been years ago. I think it was a typical sign of how BMW were cutting quality corners on the E36. God knows why i bought one, i think they're nasty now!!
Your choice, but i would still like to know why?

They look better
They're pretty much flush and not up standing like the E30 one's
Easier to press, not stiff
Don't melt ya finger when holding them down after they've been on for a while
And there's also that thought of your window's going down without holding the button, unfortunately you probably do have to change the motor but maybe people are not realising this?

Fair enough, if that's what you like.
E36 leccy windows are loaded with problems too, one common problem (and i had it) is that they can end up going down in about 5cm steps, you have to keep pressing the button to get it all the way down, and then the same all the way up again. Trouble was, most of the motors from the scrappy were the same or soon would be, and a new one was approx 180 quid, utter crap.
I was so dissappointed with that car after loving E30's i went away from BMW for a couple of years.
It's interesting to see how these things can be done though, whether it's worth it is up to you. I just wondered why.
Now i know.

thing is mate its not the motors you change
its the just the switches
and it will be a reversible mod
so you will be able to go back to original if you wanted/needed
