Obv with m50 inlet setup, 2.5' free flow and a good chip, 230bhp+, what would an e30 do 0-60 in??

I know a calibra turbo will do 6.6 and they are a quick car, so in comparison how would an e30 get on??....

Too many factors to list. I'd assume it would be below 7 in almost all cases though.

Ok, exact setup would be
M52 2.8
M50 inlet setup
Throttlebody water supply bypassed
M42 box
M20 lightened flywheel
3.64 lsd
M52 exhaust manifolds+ 2.5' free flow
Aggressive chip

Gotta be below 6!! winkeye

Chipped m52 ?
Can you get a chip for them ,i thought they had to be live remapped .

I havent timed mines with more or less that set up (barring the chip ) but i plan to soon
winkeye

At a guess i'd say 6-7 secs

It is not the power that causes the biggest issue in a e30, Its getting the thing off the line winkeye I have traction issues until 3rd gear on most surfaces and cant get much better than 6 seconds to 60 :x

ACS coilovers, 235 t1r's and a fully rebuilt 40% lock lsd ain't helping me.

back on topic, diffs mounts can rip out the floor if you have too many hard starts on stick tyres. that picture scared me into doing the e36 twin ear diff pick up mod on my car

Well the thing is I saw a chip (pop in eprom type) on ebay for £94 iirc claiming 28bhp increase and up to 25lbft but I'm glad I had a chat with dan first or else I would have been stuck with a useless chip!! He said a socket has to be soldered onto the board to fit these...... So not good.
Might aswel go for a remap session I think tbh :D
I can't wait to feel the difference between my current m50 and my new m52 :D

Ant, I'm running a 3.91 LSD off an iS gearbox with M20 fly (not lightened). If I can get it off the line tidy then I'd hope high 5's/low 6's ?

I've been running my m50 through a 4.10 dif for a bit so I hope its noticably faster than what it is now :D

Ant, I would go 3.64 tomorrow as the 3.91 is still a bit busy at motorway speeds. The grunt of the 2.8 helps to get things on the go from low RPM though and it's constant surge all the way to the redline from there.

Mine is doing about 3500 at 80mph

Won't be anywhere near as frantic as that 4.10 must be, 1st gear on yours must be unnecessary. :)

Mate my first gear is hardly worth having!! Lol
Its great fun about town though but on the motorway its a living nightmare! 60-65 @ 3000rpm 8O and tops out @ 135 but she gets there pretty well :D
I drove from mine to danthe's the other week,, a 2 hour 20min journey took me 3 as I had to do 60-65 all the way to keep consumption good, I got 397 miles to a tank though so not to bad lol

I think I will stick with the .64 then tbh, apparently they give around 75mph @3000rpm so im okay with that :D 8)

I am using E36 box and 3.15 rear diff. 80mph is just over 3k. It's about right tbh gearing wise. Could do with a 6th gear though. A job for the future maybe. :D

i think i can help out a bit in answering this question of M52 E30 0-60. i have a few videos i took in my car on a G-TECH meter (go on roll your eyes), i will get onto movie maker stick them together and open up a Utube acc and i will report back.

the mods on my car was
M52B28 in a iron block
E36 G,Box
M50 inlet manifold
BBTB
ITG Maxogen Filter
S52 US M3 Cams
S3.25 LSD.

p.s the only car i have ever had it out with was a MK5 .:R32 honestly in my head i had it as i cant touch him because everyone knows the R32 does not hang about. boy was i wrong i had a much better pace than the MK5 R, without restraint i could have been in the back of him. and before anyone says he was not trying, when cruising you do not shift gears droping the cars a$$ down for no reason and puffing out a bit of smoke when up shifting and poping and farting from his exhaust :D the poor guy did try hard but went home dissapointed.

anyway i will get some videos of my 0-60 and q-miles complet with figurs for you guys to dissect.
