This year alone iv spent over 2Grand improving my chromie, the engine has just died, sounds like big ends....... :(

Not sure what to do now, i think the 325 is too good condition to strip and sell. But i think thats what im going to have to do.

Or drop the sump and slip in some new bearings.

What are the symptoms? It may be something else entirely. Does the oil pressure light flicker or light when its running?

i was driving along and all of a sudden she started sounding not right, i pulled over straight away, she sounds really rough like a load metal clanking , low tickover, i then tryed to pull off the road, there is a big loss in power and compression. just got her towed back home.

People frag far too easily these days!! :(
It's only an engine!! If matching numbers are your game then rebuild your current lump or if you're not bothered then replace the entire engine!! You'll find a good one on here if you use a trusted seller 8)
Don't frag for such a crap reason...

I've seen the car in the flesh and it does look very clean, definitely investigate further and replace the engine if necessary.

I had a mechanic say the same thing. Ended up just being a rocker. Not a bad job if you have means/room/time to do the job. I had a bear of a time with mine. Needed it the next day, didn't have a new head gasket or studs, so pulling the head was a no-go. I was able to get it done eventually though.

I've got a very good one for sale with history to verify mileage

On my FS thread on here and also listed on Ebay ending today :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :MESELX:IT

Plenty of Zoners have seen the car it came out of - its a good lump.

I saw this one make good power at a Fritz RR day, certainly a healthy high comp engine, regardless of their optimistic.

wouldn't be bottom end if it's lost compression. rings maybe. pull the rocker cover off first. only a quick job.
