KYB Gas shocks

Has anyone tried using KYB gas dampers on their E30?
I was wondering if they were similar to Bilstein B4's. I'd like to combine them with eibach 30-40mm springs.
Also does anyone have any strut collar nuts or know the part number for some 51mm struts. I'm struggling as mine have the thread on the inside and I can only find the other type.
