I,ve been looking on the net at E30 pick ups and other BMW pick ups people have done and have really found myself liking them for all the wrong reasons

. There so wrong the look so right if you get my drift, makes me want to take the grinder to mine. Anyone else out there a have a love for them or even got one and some cool picks to post, or is it just me on this one?

Bear in mind that the rear bulkhead is a structural member on saloons and do your research carefully before you pick up your angle grinder!

Wouldn't a coupe be the easy option as you wouldn't have to fill up the rear door shuts.

This looks best, I'm assuming a Baur rear c pillar has been used?

Chevrolet do make some lovely trucks. But the best is a 3100. I just can't decide on first or second series.

Such a thing was destined to exist. A series of coach builders set about making a 745i E23 into an armoured, 8 wheel drive, twin engined brute with trunk mounted BMW R100 GS's, for a wealthy man of kuwait residence.
I do not know if it was ever finished, as all I have is some details on the plans, and hartge liveried mock up images.

yes , I love them. I built one before. It has to be built on a 4 door and I used a mk 2 Astra van boot lid for the rear part.

I think they have used a standard c pillar and just cut the roof and moved the pillar forwards, well thats what i would have done if i was doing one.

This one I would imagine, is "just" a cut up 2-door with the rear windows left behind.
I'd use a Baur base. Take the canvas roof off, pick-up the back end, and you get a pick-up with a built in roll cage, and a targa roof.
Definitely cool, and the way I'd go. Would love something like this.

On second thoughts, the rear side window looks too short to be a standard 2-dr one, so yes, prob IS a Baur rear, doesn't look like they left the Targa panel in though.

As Gortour said above im just starting to re-build my one, i love them, they are such a head turner, i remember when we went to pick mine up, had it on the back of a trailer and pretty much everyone stopped and watched it go past
