Not sure but won't they insure a 22y/o under the classic car scheme?

UK insurance companies live in a world of statistics. They don't dislike you, they aren't being awkward, the MD doesn't drive a new Merc. and have a paranoid hatred of twenty year old BMWs, they simply crunch the statistics, and quote at a level where you (statistically) won't cost them money.
It's nice to get sub £100 quotes on a 325!

Remember they are not insuring the car they are insuring you..and what their experience is of what you are liable to do with the car as its worth nothing as they would invariably write it off in the event of an accident

The fact of the matter is, you have 0 years NCB, in the eyes of most insurers that makes you incredibly high risk.

You need to find an insurer who can take your company van driving experience into consideration, assuming this is claim free experience and you can provide proof of it.

quick question mate do you lot take other driving experience into consideration? currently as a second driver driving for 3 years age 20.... is it poss to get proof from current insurnce comps and get some sort of NC discount if i were to take out an own policy? also somehow if i do crash pay a high excess - £800 > but in return get a low quote £1000< ? if it can be amended somehow...

just remember if you pay £100 or up to £3000 you never really get any of your money back and that's only for one years cover. So there is only one winner and that not you or me! :x

Quite impressed by my insurance.... 316i, separate policy so using 0ncb, myself and another 21 year old - £250 for the year 8) limited to 3k mileage though but that was fine for me.

It does also depend on where you live as well if im correct?

I'm 20 with 1 year ncb parked on the road 10,000 miles a year on a 318is for £1050 which I thought was alright. That was with Admiral.

Here is a guide I've found on the web

Shows I'm in an A rated area, thank god! My friend has done a similar thing twice but leaving the key in the ignition! Lucky bugger! [/url]

yes we can usually work with named driver/company car experience if it is claim free and proof can be provided.
We would give an introductory discount based on this claim free driving but the policy would start a 0 years NCB.
We can put a higher excess on but it is rate we would go with an excess above £750.

I'm paying about £800 FC on my 320, that's 22yo, been driving for 5 years, 4 years NCB and doing 10k per year. That's through the Co-Op. I'm still not happy at paying that much though :(. Apparently I can't have it on a classic policy either as it's a daily driver.

Maybe an idea but I do mine through Graham Sykes as a classic on a 3K policy - has to be in a garage too but its £109 a year fully comp with 0 NCB as you have an agreed fixed value and you don't accrue any bonus... The policy is through these guys though if you can go direct: https://broker.kgminsurance.co.uk/kgm-m ... -login.asp
