Ticking noise from rear wheels

I am getting a very worrying sounding noise coming from the rear wheels, which I can't identify.
I thought it was the rear pad sensor rubbing, as the light was on. I would have changed them myself but I couldn't get the wheel nuts off as they'd been done up with an airgun. so had to take take it to the garage, but the noise is worse than ever. I've taken a video clip of it (you'll need to turn the sound right up).
its whenever you are moving, and doesn't matter if the clutch is engaged or not. the sound also seems to be transmitted up through the transmission tunnel as you go faster.
can anyone help tell em what it is?

it might be the sheild that sits behind the rear brakes see if it is bent in wards

^^ wheel bolts may be too long...
Or were almost too long and were tightend too much which may have resulted in them going too far out the other side....??

Could be coming from the handbrake, Mine makes a similar noise, Try pulling it up a click see if that helps.

the wheels haven't been changed/and the wheel nuts are no different.
i'll check the sheild tomorrow when it's lighter...
i tried the handbrake thing, but that made no difference.
what exactly on the propshaft am I looking for? something loose?
thanks for the replies so far!

which usually indicates a knackered back plate & the wheel bolts are catching on the mech

Try and jack the rear end then turn the wheels the clicking sound may not be loud but loosen the nuts then spin the wheels again the sound may go, I had this prob it took me about 15mins to work out.

I have just been outside, and loosened the rear wheel bolts, and the noise stopped - so those of you who said were correct!
when I took the bolts out completely you can see where they have been rubbing.

right - sorted, at least temporarily.
I took the rear wheels/drums off this morning to have a proper look. It turns out one of the fixings that hold the shoes to the backplate was missing, so the shoe was loose, and the spring was rubbing against the wheel bolts. rang around, but nowhere can get the fitting kit in at the moment, so I put a bolt through it to hold for the moment.
I'm wondering if when the garage did the pads, they knocked the back of the fixing
while I was there I noticed that the shoes were basically down to the metal anyway, so I'll replace those too. oh, and the rear drop links need replacing
at least the noise has gone, and nothing rubbing anymore

at least now it's all been apart/back together once and correct torqued up, it should all come apart much easier next time round

how bad is the fixing plate? can you if any of the mounting holes are damaged, can you use washers?

I'm sure there must be something. my car came with that problem.
I've since changed the back plates, but someone had done quite a good mend one side by using a retaining pin pushed through from the back, it was long enough to still get a spring and 1/4 turn lock washer on it.

My car failed on handbrake efficiency so after having a look inside the drum we realised the shoes on one side weren't fixed to anything. My mechanic managed to fix the problem with washers but after putting everything back together the handbrake on that side was slightly better but still not great. A rolling road test proved it was still too poor to pass an MOT.
