You get what you pay for, those cheaper covers just don't last.

Yeah that's the benefit of Halfrauds products. I bought a socket set once... Had the ratchet replaced maybe 4/5 times in the last year... Broke again t'other day! Good job I get a new warranty each time ;)

Magpie, I bought that one from halfrauds for my xjs convertible and it is crap. Changed mine twice as the strap keeps ripping the material and its not waterproof. Refund!!!!!!

Didn't I read on here about someone using a cheap cover and it trapped the water between the car and the cover making a mes of the paint?

There was a thread on here about someone who had brought their car out after winter hibernation and the paintwork was wrecked.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't cover your car for any period of time within 6 months of getting paint done. I think that was the cause of the problem above.

I stick with breathable covers with soft liners to avoid scratching the paint. Then I put a cheaper cover over the top of that if the car is outside.

A lad I used to work with was a dealer for really decent (and sometimes bespoke) car covers. I nearly bought one, but would of cost £120ish. Black, waterproof, red velvety/felty lining made exactly to measure for an E30. He used one for his Triumph and it did keep the car perfectly dry.

As apposed to a crap cheapy one that very quickly developed holes everywhere and let 90% of the water through.

I have a broucher. Been nearly a year since I even looked at it.

Considering I'm at uni atm, and the broucher is somewhere in my room, I cant dig it out. All as I remember is the guys name is simon and he works where I used to.

I'll browse, but otherwise, 'bespoke car covers' in google might find similar things.

I've posted before about good car covers - http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/

Stormforce and Sahara are the ones I purchased earlier in the year and I highly recommend them.
