been toying with matte and satin colors for my e30 for a while now, and i really like the look of a matte red, only really seen it on newer cars though don't no if it would make an older car/classic look as if it had faded paint though. anyone have any ideas or able to photoshop a matte red e30?
any help appreciated

I rekon it'd just look like bloomed old faded paint.
If you're going satin, maybe try a silver, or charcoal grey. Blacks been done to death.
It'd be a lot cheaper to do a satin/matte car. You could even get away with doing it with rattle cans
I sprayed an old Alfa 155 satin black on my drive, and slammed it to the deck. It looked pretty rude

what new car has matte red?
theres a bloke who painted his e30 in some sort of copper and then pissed on it to accelerate the corrrosion to turn it green, looked different to say the least.

I've never see matte red on any car.....Not sure if it would work well with an old car.
A little while back me and a mate went to visit a guy who wraps cars as we were toying with the idea on another car. He was wrapping a Gallardo at the time in flat black which looked quite menacing. He showed us a matte grey paper he had which looked

. If I was to wrap a car I would do it in that colour. Definitely the best paper out the lot we saw.

Although, the above has been done with rattle cans. The best to do it is to use a red base coat of the shade you want, and then you put matting agents in the laquer. Far better results
