Bilsteins

Hi guys, just bought a used pair of b6 rear shocks that are suppose to work very well, so should I be able to press them in with my hands and one shock takes 45secs to rise fully and the other shoots up! I've pumped the shock for 20mins and made it worse, maybe they have been laying down so need to keep upright for a day to let the gas set???. With my cheap gmax shocks I have to use my body weight to press the shock in and they rise almost at the same time but I can push the car down by an inch and half, so just wanted to know if the b6 shocks are fine or cream crackered Cheers

Hmmm.
I'd expect them to both perform the same. Its possible they might come good after being upright for a bit.
Sounds like they could be past it though..

Dont know mate but I just replaced the dampers on my other car and both seemed to return at the same rate. Both took the same effort to compress which was not much. They were new out of the box but cheap pattern parts.
Hope that helps.

I'm no expert but I'd say that as long as they return themselves they're useable. Clearly they're not in great nick but as long as there's no leaks I'd use them.

good ones should "spring" out to the full extension quite quickly and be fairly hard to push in by hand. one of yours sounds passed it. and they should be stored compressed, i dont think it make any difference if there stored laying down.

So if I keep the slow one compressed for a day will that do anything??
