textar pads here too, given the thermonuclear heat they put up with on my rear discs the other night (discs were glowing cherry red in the dark) and they still seem fine, I'm happy with them.

EBC green stuff are shite got them on the compact and some times you sit there with your foot hard on the brake wondering if your ever going to stop!.
Ive got zimmermann discs from gsf with texstar pad and i find that a very good combination

I like EBC greenstuff, bit expensive at best part of £50 for the last set,but they do wear well.
Put a set into the touring, along with a new pair of front discs and re-con calipers and the thing stops when I push the middle pedal and the front wheels can still be cleaned of brake dust, what more do you need?

the only thing i noticed with greenstuff was slightly less dust than the oem of my other car but they were over double the price of dealer pads. i wouldnt buy again. ferodos seem to get good writeups!
also dont buy slotted disks, all they do is make an annoying noise when braking hard. only worth it if you experience fade often.

dont get pagid, absolutely crap, gave my car some stick for 5 miles and couldnt stop for a main juntion... fuuun.. got green stuff now and there alot better. i was going to get them from the stealers and they wanted 70 quid just for the front, must be gold plated or summin

sounds like your brake fluid was boiling! Had that on a 190 cossie once. Shot straight out into the junction!
Bought some textars a few years ago from ECP and they actually had a BMW stamp on them.
Ferodo have always done me proud, or mintex.. Most of the brand name products are good for road use. Its just as important to make sure the discs are in good order too.

never had a problem with pagid myself, work well from cold.
would have gone OEM ATE, but don't think ecp do ATE much these days? Well they didn't do them when i wanted them.

I bought some of these just to get my car through the MOT with the full intention of junking them for something decent if the car was OK, but a year later and apart from being a bit squeally when warm have had no problems at all.
I think they fall into the category "Ultra-cheap"

Might I just add that for standard oem road pads (i.e. none of the fast road/racing compounds) then they are all the same if they are Pagid, Mintex etc as they are all made by TMD friction. I have known people who worked in their place at Hartlepool and they said that the OEM pads were all the same friction compound mounted on the differently painted backing plates.
