Real happy with my E30

Just got back from a big BIG drive in my E30.

On wednesday I drove my E30 from Sydney Australia Down to Melbourne Australia then back to Sydney. The Trip is around 1000km (621 Miles) one way or 2000km return.

For those Who dont know my car is a 325e with a massive 300,000kms + on the odometer. Well the car ran perfectly and returned 8.1ltrs/100kms Or 29.4 miles/gallon..

Goes to show that these M20 engines are bullet proof.

The only problem I had with the car was the boot decided to lock itself shut. With all my tools in the boot saw me stopping at a tool shop and buying a cheap socket set to get the rear seat out, kicking in the ski port and me at 81kgs squeezing through the ski port and undoing the lock striker.. It was a tight squeeze.

Real happy with the E30 :P

Skipunda,

You bet I went the coast Rd, its about 2 hours longer but the scenery is spectacular and the roads are beautiful. Lots of twists and bends for the E30 to eat up.

These Eta motors have mountains of grunt. Cruising at 110kph sees 2400RPMs and when you hit the steepest of hills you dont even have to press the accelerator harder. It eats hills.

Mike,Your fuel use at 8.1 liters/100kms is 34.7mpg. Incredible for a car 23 years old and 300,000+ KMS!!
