Complete waste Ata, suck hot air in, create flatspots and your engine becomes less responsive.

MPG will probably be worse i would imagine???

BMW airbox is the best, it has been proven too :D

Some say yes, some say no so from that I'd deduce that it'll be pretty negligible difference if any so in my opinion not worth it. No idea about the MPG but putting anything other than OE stuff on a car runs the risk of impacting the way it was designed to work...

I've seen a wee difference since I added a K&N panel filter to the cabby. I'd recommend that.

me too! id recommend useing a k+n panel filter. that way you stick to a stock air box with cold air feed.

i had a pipercross panel filter, it did absolutly nothing so i sold it and got £20 for it :D

Brianmoore recons the panel filters dont filter properly and let crap get into the engine? not sure how true this is but he is rarely wrong :D

the panel filters are good as long as they are oiled properly and cleaned out from time to time.
i have used k+N panel filters on all of my road cars so far and have never experienced any problems.

I'm swapping my K&N cone for a panel as soon as I find the fittings for my airbox again! The power band on my 320 is shocking - nothing up to 3.5k, everything from 3.5-5k, then nothing again! Was much smoother with the standard panel in.

But the noise is pretty lush...
