It's a factory styling option, and fitted as standard to the /Facelift 325i Sport.

It's a bit of plastic that miraculously doubles the value of your car while making the most horrendous rust completely invisible.

Sound, so a standard E30 325i with a teck 2 kit would look like the 325i Sport?
So what does the kit include? and how much does it cost?

Front spoiler, rear apron, side skirts. Far, far more than it ought to. About £600+.

Tech 2 is an abbreviation of M-Technic and the 2 signifies its the later model kit after the facelift in late 1986
may be easier to see on mine as the kit is dark grey and the car is silver. thus the dark bits are the tech 2 kit, with exception of the upper boot spoiler which on my car is body colour, this is also included in the tech 2 kit
this was the only factory option for a body kit it followed on from the Tech 1 which was fitted to the earlier metal bumper E30 upto 1986ish., but many are about such as Alpina, BBS, Schnitzer, Hartge, Reiger etc etc all have their charms and down sides, it all comes down to personal style. the 325 "sport" is basically a normal 325 with the full tech 2 kit plus some other bits such as LSD, different gearbox, modified interior etc. they are sometimes refered to as tech 2 sport or 325 tech 2 when being sold. A kit could be specified on ANY facelift E30 from the dealer thus a car witha kit is not necessarily a sport model.

The older Tech 1 bodykit is much more subtle, rarer, and not as well known. I personally prefer it, although I like both. The spoiler is the killer part of that kit. Its just so good.
The tech 1s are much rarer than that tech 2 and usually are held together by rust nowadays (not that its much different from the mud catching T2). Tech 2s are what people know about and see occassionally, so everyone wants a tech 2 sport. So the value of them has rocketed and they are owned by everyone and anyone. The tech 1s are more of a niche market, hunted down by E30 enthusiasts who then realise they cant cope with the rust repairs.
Tech 1s are cheaper and still rather sort after. Finding a rust free one is always happy news to all of our ears!
