Thats stunning. BBS RS's look perfect. Strange it looks to have pear beige instead of Natur Beige.

Looking at the door cards, It probably had pearl beige cloth seats before.

I think the important thing to remember is the quality of the car - from what I have read on this site over the years, finding a rust free E30 in the UK is pretty difficult.
Alternatively, in Australia, finding a rusty E30 is probably even harder!!
How much would rust repairs add to the selling price to get the car sorted - a few grand I expect...
I figure my totally rust free chromie would bring much the same price as a totally rust free one in the UK....or I could be totally wrong

The high end models here (325iS, M3, Alpina, etc) bring big dollars due to low numbers - you can buy a really tidy, totally rust free, low spec 318 for less than $2000 and drive it for years with minimal problems...and, despite frequent rants regarding the cost of parts, if you are prepared to get them from OS they are pretty reasonable

^^^^^^^ agreed, our cars are mint and buying parts is not too bad if you get them OS

The Classic Throttle Shop do tend to have slighlty inflated prices on their cars, but they do only seem to stock the finest examples.

out of interest what sort of tax do you pay on importing an E30 in this condition to Oz? Is left hand drive a problem?

Where I am fully registering a LHD isn't an issue once it reaches a certain age (I think it is 20 years). I believe this varies from state to state.
Not sure about the import tax but spoke recently to a guy with Hong Kong import E30 M3 and I believe a similar thing - depends on the age of the vehicle. Someone will come along and prove me totally wrong here

the only reason i ask is because i can find cars in close to the condition you see in the top link from Japan, and if I can get anywhere close to this value then I may give up my day job!

You do see a hell of a lot of Jap import motors here (drift type cars - Nissan turbos and the like) for this very reason.
Doesn't seem to be the same influx of BMWs - couldn't say why

wrong side of the road most probably. Dubai/Bahrain is full of these Jap E30's. even real turds are not rusty!
I could honestly say my current sport is in the same condiction as that black one, and whilst it is a better example its not unique here! only difference between mine and black one is mine is used daily so its dusty!

It is all down to the rarity thing - only a few E30 325iS were sold here making them rare and desirable. Most E30s here are low spec 318.
You can buy a decent E36 M3 for the same price as a good 325iS - plenty of them were sold here.
