E30 Zone

Hello,

Has anybody experience with Kumho sport tires? Are they good?
I need 4 new 205.50.16 tires, and i'm thinking , maybe in the Ecsta SPT ones, what do you think? Has anyone experience with other model?

I've found toyo's, bridgestones and michelins work well on the e30

cheap and cheerful if you ask me. I've a set of 195/60 x 14 (I think) bottletops. Seem good enough but depends upon whether you're going to max out the handling aspects of your e30. I just use mine for tootling around

Cant fault the T1R's although the prices have shot up since ive been buying, I think Bob rates the Bridgestones more but they are more money again

I have a relatively new kumho on one of my wheel's, and the sidewall has cracked all the way round.

So pretty cr4p imo.

What Kumhos are good then? In my experience they just make the steering all tramliney, and they crack where the sidewall meets the tread. I'd rather have almost anything else.

KU31 kumho tyres on my Sport. They seem to have coped with the abuse of an S50 for the last year ok. Crap in the wet though.

Same here.
While they're not the best, and better is available for almost no extra cash, they're definitely not crap.

I think i'm gonna choose, between bridgestone potenza re050 and michelin pilot exalto pe2.

I have Kumho KU31s on my IS and IMO they are a good value tyre. They seem to offer good all-round levels of grip and are quite cheap too. My brother even tried them on his M3 and recommended them to me.

bridgestone re040 are by far the best for an e30 other than that falkens

best tyre for the money. loads of grip and wear very well!
you cant go wrong with them. im very suprised at the negative comments tbh.
i had contact 2 before them and i would say they are just as good!

From what I've read, the Vredstein sportrac's are better than my KU31's and they're around the same money. Camskill were cheaper than anywhere else for 'em.

I've opted for the Kumho KU31 ones. First impressions, they seem to be good, but later, after doing more miles with them, i'll leave a more precise feedback.

If I remember they are the importers for Falken and Kumho and probably most other makes of tyre.
They have a retail outlet at Micheldever and there prices and customer service are legendry, down to the point of cleaning my alloys in an ultrasonic bath before fitting new tyres.
They have laser tracking bays and do a first class job miles cheaper than all the other major and national chains.

i have goodyear eagle f1s and i think they are the best tyre i have ever had, in the rain or dry they always have good grip.

Fitted the KU31's to my Sport last year before my trip to the Ring and i couldnt fault them, performed great all trip, still going strong. Would defo have them again.

Fitted my T1R's before a trip to the ring, was mega impressed with them. Oodles of dry grip, not really tested wet so far, but they're certainly not deathtraps!
