e30 celebration model?

Does anyone know if bmw made an e30 celebration/anniversary/birthday model?
I saw a run down 325i in the car park near work, and had to leave a note on the windscreen, asking if the owner would be willing to sell!
It is zinnobar pink, with tech 2 kit, sport suspension, and what i found odd, was the black and silver pinstripes down the sides. Anyway, turns out it was a guy on the site where i`m working!, and because he knew i had a touring, thought it could be me that left the note.
He is says it is a special model, - 1 0f 350 made, (detailed paperwork to prove), and a plate in the engine bay.
Oh, and he is thinking of selling soon, and will give me 1st dibs !
Any ideas what it could be, and worth? ( restored).

Thanks
Gary. :)

Was hoping for instant recognition, really.
Maybe its just another `sport` !

Could be, but he says its backed up by original paperwork.
I will find out next week, when he says he will show me said paperwork.
I will post it here if i think its worth a punt !
I`ve got a feeling its `just` a sport, that needs plenty of tlc. :D

Looks like my pinstripes on the 318i lux aren't standard then!

Pinstriping was strandard for lux models AFAIK?

My 316i lux shell has them as does my mate's lux?

Anyways this "anniversary model" stuff is BS for sure, that's a Birmingham model sport.

The plate in the engine bay will be the VIN plate, if you're lucky it might even be the original one!

Get the last 7 digits of the VIN number and put into www.realoem.com and it will tell you what it started life as.

so, just to clarify, in our house hold, we have a 316i lux, which my dad bought new and guess what, no pin stripes

if the do have them then again it was probably a dealer option
