Is it a fragger or repair ???

Picked up a 325 1986 Chromie a few weeks ago, drives great and hope to keep her for a while - but you know me
Anyway, rust wise the boot seems to be the worse place, everywhere else is pretty good, and the carpet at the rear footwells is bone dry
Removed the tow bar so rust round the holes, rust in the boot behind the side carpets, and rust behind both rear arches
Is it a matter of waiting until the MOT and fingers crossed or is it worth repairing or breaking?

just send it for a test now and if it fails atleast you know on what and your current mot still applies

I'll remove the carpets out of the boot tomorrow and take some pics
I'm selling me 320 so this will hopefully pay for repairing the chromie

no im sure if you have a test before its due to expire and it fails then this superceeds your excisting cert. giving you the standard 10 working days to fix it and re-test it.
an mot test pass is no proof of vehicle condition thruout the year. its the vehicles owner resopncibilty to keep the vehicle up to mot test pass condition.

Rear o/s arch
Can't get the battery tray out - too rusted!
Holytastic (after removing tow bar and extra holes!)
Rear N/S Arch
Behind o/s headlight

- oh well mot till Nov and going to tax her for 6 months and treat her light a bitch
Not rusty and sounds great

Chromie 325i's are rare now. It might be worth saving.

Prefacelift 2.5 2 doors are quite sought after and rare, however a reshell might be more worthy with this one as the 4 pot models are more plenty full. however a 316 with 2.5 running gear wont be worth as much as a genuine 2.5 shell
However, its certainly savable, although them inner arches are a worry, i would of binned my cabby if the inner arches were like that.
give it 5-10 years and this will be something people will want to keep on the road.

Unless you yourself can weld I would say "it's beyond economical repair" but then most E30's about are now.
You can be bloody pickey with these cars, and I wouldn't make a final decision on it's fate until you've had a good ol' look underneith, the front panel, the bulkhead etc....

Thanks chaps - I've decided to keep her till the end of the year and possibly look into getting her fixed up (it's a moredoor btw)
Anyway I need to tone up my skinny arms, and the keep fit steering/sunroof and windows will help this !
I thought my 320 was pretty nippy (wife has this now!) but this thing is a total different kettle of fish
I just love the way it delivers the power and the exhaust note

Got an EDirty6 for sale if you want one
Surprised you missed this one as I picked it up from Pudsey!
I do like it as I missed me old Chromies
Weird thing is with this one is the rear bumper - they're pre-facelift but black, and don't look like they're been sprayed - was this an option or am I being daft?
