I know this might sound like a stupid question but how do you identify a real motorsport?
Logbook?
HPI?
Any distinguishing features?
Basically im going to look at a convertible tomorrow and it would be great if he didn't know it was a motorsport
I dont know what makes me think this

maybe something to do with the wheels with nogaro centres(excuse the spelling) but that could just of been added on but its an old boy so would he be bothered to do this?

Needs the code 796 or 798 Motorsport Edition on the vehicle specification enquiry which can be obtained from a BMW dealer. Then you can be certain. HTH.

Sometimes there is a "build number" under there.

Dont think this is the case with all four editions of Motorsport though. Unless someone can confirm?

That's why I'm holding back, I couldn't get anything too meaningful out of mine. Like I say, it's a bit hit and miss. As far as I'm aware there are no build numbers (bar paint, interior spec) for Motorsports.
I'd like to be corrected though

TBH,ive never seen this "number" under a back seat as yet but apparantly,i think a few people have found them on the third editions?

I'll take a look at what it says. As above, not claiming a number...In fact I've never seen a number for a motorsport.

Its a paper label attached to the foam on the underside of the rear bench.
Its interior was labeled giving you the number in the production run.
I found mine recently having sold the car last year
