Got a good gearbox with leaky tailshaft seal.
and an LSD good working order, but cant see ratio as tag is corroded!
What are these worth seperately?
Sorry to keep asking prices, but want to give people a fair price both ways!
Thanks

Hiya mate, it would've been easier on the eyes if you grouped all these posts into one thread, but anyways:
I'd say the gearbox is worth Ԛ£80-Ԛ£100 depending on it's condition bearing in mind the leak.
Diff's are worth Ԛ£250 all day long!

lsd is Ԛ£200 - 250 odd.
i sold one recently to a zoner for Ԛ£225.
gearbox Ԛ£50 - 100 maybe.
all depends on condition and mileage etc.

Yeah probably mate, but I only think of them as people ask!!!
LSD really worth that much????
I'd ask Ԛ£50 for the G/B then, as I said want to be fair
Thanks

OK I think Ԛ£50 for G/B and Ԛ£200 for LSD...
As long as I'm not ripping anyone off... inc myself!!

In that case, you're asking too much for your wheels

could you find out what ratio the lsd is?
Also - what is the mileage on the car?
Thanks

If the only way of finding out is from the tag, then no I can't I'm afraid, me and fozzymonster looked the other day, but the tag was corroded.. we got a wire brush on it but had no luck!

Wilson, read this on another site, could be worth a try.
Hold one output shaft still, turn the input (prop) flange and count the number of times you need to turn it for the free output shaft to rotate once, then times the number by 2.
This is supposed to give an idea of the ratio, though not tried it myself.
Rich.
