I am looking for a good breakers yard near Derby.
Any recommendations.
Have been to Albert Looms, but there is little choice as far as BMWs are concerned. However the BMWs must be going somewhere...
Any recommendations? Should be local or if the yard is open till late that would suffice also, as I could go after work then.

Albert Looms had about 3 E30's in there about a month back.
Have you tried Steve Nightingale, not really a breakers yard but mainly deals in BMW parts. He's based in Friar Gate, (bit of a knob though)

How close to Derby do you need? Sheffield too far away?

According to their website they've 17 E30s at the moment...I haven't managed to ask them for a part they didn't have either.
Might be worth the drive depending what you're after.

There's a guy in Nottingham off the Daleside road opposite the NTL/Virgin/whatever it is this week building who I was sent to when I asked around a few of the Nottingham scrappys.
But when I went and asked about some parts he wasn't really interested in selling me anything, he did take my details and a list of the bits I needed but never got back to me. So I just bought some stuff off eBay, got a few bits from the red 4door that was at Looms and bought a few other bits off people on here.

I've been to the guy off Daleside Road and he was the same with me - a unit full of parts and he couldn't decide if he "needed" them himself or if they were in fact for sale.
There was a more door red shell in Looms' the other week but very little left of it - nothing in Podders either at the moment.
Think we should have a "spotted in **** scrapyard" section to alert people to donor cars available before they get crushed???? Just an idea.
