How rare are M3 cabs? Spotted one the other day

Just wondering really as I've never seen one before. I spotted one in Sevenoaks last weekend.
Although I don't really agree with the idea of them (imo cabs should have big torquey engines rather than high revving racing ones) it was a lovely looking thing.

They only made 786 of them so quite rare. There are a couple on the Zone

There was a very mint example parked in Tesco (Aylesbury) last weekend. I was looking out for the owner but missed them

I've got one and was out last weekend in it. But not where the ones above were spotted. Nothing better for blasting round country lanes on sunny days. BMW only imported 33 into UK, although probably a few more here now. Mine came from Belgium.

I bet ther is more here than any other Country. So many M3's were imported into the UK in the 80's & 90's even the Germans were forced to look here for them. I had a mate who imported loads. I bought 2 off him and he gave me the use of many more until he sold them

Theres one in Jersey down the road from me. Tried to speak to the owner when I delivered some pizza to someone basically next door. He'd ordered food from elsewhere and the other river was asking him about the Porshe 944 (rookie mistake). I nearly got to speak to him, but just as the other guy left, someone else popped round and I needed to get out of their parking space, so lost my chance. Wasn't gonna go banging on the door.

There's about 4 Nathan! Know where most park too.
Have a real dislike or them though. The "lets take one of the best chasis ever and lob the roof off" idea upsets me.

Red one which parks in the underground car park of the apartments near the harbour. Really mint.
The dark silver (think its granite silver) one is owned by the guy who owns sids take away and again is super mint.

Not at all. Suspension, steering, engine, etc, etc are all M3. More details on link below...

He's refering to the chassis.
@Ross and Paul - I only know the Dark Silver one. Parks down off green road in St. Clement/St. Saviour. I have seen a dark blue/purple one (Colour Deficient, so I stuggle to see the difference!) last summer I think. It was imaculate, grey leather, but on some euro plates, I seem to think polish. Might not be over here anymore or whatever. Haven't seen it since.
I still love M3 cabbies. I'd have a tintop anyday, but the cabbies are the most stunning convertibles ever made. Which is why if one fell into my lap I'd take it.

One project (ish) and one diamond black minter with lotus leather that I served 8 years ago back for some bits and bobs. The victim lives in Aylesbury and dropped it off last sunday so it may well be the one that was spotted there last sunday.

I'm sure we could have a zone meet at your house Pete? We all come, look through your stuff for anything we might need, coffee on tap then donations (generous) on the way out! Could be a bit of a money spinner!!

He's refering to the chassis.
If you a both reffering to the chassis, as in the floor pan as its a monocoque shell with integral chassis the all E30's share the same chassis from a 316 to an M3, from a touring to a cabrio.
The only difference being the cabrio floor pan has bigger sills and strengthened chassis rails.
Peel off all the outer panels from an M3 and its just a standard 2dr shell.
