That disc mounting surface looks like swiss cheese though! Which sadly makes me wonder just how strong your mounts are!

Looks good mate. They don't work on the Evo though, my M3 stops quicker than my Evo with that brake set up.

cheers mate
I think dot 4, braided hoses and a good set of fast road pads would be the best route first. If you could get an Evo or Porsche brembo set up cheap it might be worth doing but otherwise it's very expensive.

That's because the Lancer, like the Impreza, have fashion calipers. They're designed to look huge through the gaps in your wheels, rather than to actually be good brakes. Lancer/Impreza brake upgrades tend to be smaller, but far better, calipers.

thought about putting evo 10 calipers/discs on my e30 since a freind has some he cooked and replaced with ap's.
Two things put me off. The size was obscene. And the price to replace said cooked discs/pads

The best thing that Evo/Impreza calipers have going for them is their availability. Other than that, they're nothing special (least of all the Scoob parts as they're widely acknowledged to be a particularly bad Brembo design).

Thats what my friend said about the ones on his 6, 7, 8 and 9 but he wreckoned the 10's as tehy were radically redesigned. They just shat themselves when he started making big power.

Sadly it's true for both cars. They put more priority on making the things look impressive when you were standing still than they did on making them actually slow the car down well.
