HEllo!
I'm Francesco From North Italy, I own a E24 635 and a E3 3,3L auto .
I'm here cause I need help :
This month My friend decided to restore completely his M3 200 hp , and he wanted to restore also leather interior to original cardinat red leather( the previous owner removed the complete interior for a black leather set).
The help we need is about doorcards :
For M3 (or E30s) , were They red with orizonthal sewing stripes or obliqual?
The floor was covered with red moquette /velour or was it black?
Thank You for everyone who can give us a hand .
Francesco

Hello Francesco, i know you from the carclub forum, i am hiabboy. Cardinal red was unfortunately a very rare trim colour in an e30. I have seen them with red carpets and red rear shelf or with dark grey carpets and shelf . I have only ever seen them with the horizontally pleated vinyl side panels. You will really have your work cut out to find one of these interiors, i have only ever seen 3 and only one ( a k reg uk car ) had the red carpets and rear shelf ( some heathen had cut it and fitted 6x9s ! ).. Good luck !.

I'd love a red leather interior - they're pure 80's.

Only one i've ever seen belonged to Geoff Hartge H26 but i'm not even sure if that was kardinal red as it had black piping on the seats.

Could BMW even supply the material? Assuming you had a large enough bank balance.

I was under the impression red was an Individual trim option and therefore it depends how the original buyer specced it.

I think it was called Oxblood red but might be wrong. It never had the black piping when i owned it :?

Good luck with the search mate, red leather rocks!!

From what i've been told BMW won't supply any fabric for retrims but i cold be wrong! Could just get an independant retrimmer to retrim the current interior in cardinet red.

Maybe i'm loosing it! I'm sure it had black piping but if you owned the car then your more likely to know than me.

I have Kardinal Red leather sports seats in my cabrio. The carpet is matching red as are the door trims. The door trims have horizontal "stitching", but these are vinyl door trims, not leather. The dashboard is in black.

I have seen one other E30 in the flesh with this interior colour in Germany. I believe that no trim parts can be bought from BMW in this colour anymore.
