I was just on Pistonheads looking for parts for the car and there was a link for webuyanycar.com. So out of curiousity I clicked on it and entered my details. And they priced my 1990 M3 at wait for it........£70. Wow! I can't wait to get it sold. But I had better hurry because they emailed me to tell me that the valuation (LOL) is only applicable for 7 Days. I'd better hurry up and get it valetted. Don't want to miss out!

I had my 1997 Audi S8 valued at £150! Do they ever manage to buy any cars.com?

No, they didn't VALUE your car at £70; they OFFERED you £70 for it. Two completely different things.
I'll OFFER you £700 for it.

No, it's got 92000km. It didn't have 'climate control' or 'tw*t nav' though that might be the reason. LOL

Hi bss325i,

Excuse my ignorance.....but what is the difference between 'Air Con' and 'Climate'?

Climate maintains a cabin temp, air con just blows cold air

Ahh, sort of like central heating, so there is a temperature gauge that keeps the cabin at a constant 'whatever' degrees....

Those clever Germans....I don't know.....What will they think of next?

Climate control was an option even on a 316i. IIRC, the little 10mm projecting grill above the heat control is where the sensor fits.
As I've stated on here before, there is very little available on modern cars that wasn't available as an E30 option.
Stability control is the obvious one that's not, but we don't want that anyway, do we?

You'd never be able to retro fit it would you? Probably cos you'd never find it anywhere.
Traction control aswell?

Has anyone actually got a list of original options?

I know when they came out it wasn't the begining of time as my dad had a rover with cruise and air con in 1985.

cheers mate, they're M Parallels.

Been many discussions, infact one started the other day, about what suits the car. Some say they don't, some like them. I've had them on the longest (5 years) but I always think it's time for a change.

Well..... if we are going to be pedantic it was actually a 2nd century Chinese inventor called Ding Huan who invented (therefore thought of) an air conditioning system. Which led many centuries later to the first climate control system which was indeed an American Cadillac.

And besides.... it was just a throwaway comment not meant to be held up to scrutiny.
