Mine's only got 185k on, but 80k of that has been done in the last 6 years.
I had a recon engine fitted at 167k and my aim is to get 200k on it, so I'd like to see 367k on the odometer. :teehee:
It's going to take roughly another 14 years.

The million-miler doesn't count because it's not a real world car.

Mine is on 142k now, ive done 11,000 miles in it

The 325i cabby's supposidly done 94k, got nothing to prove it, some things look very good for age like carpet etc but some rot says other wise, still has original windscreen thats mint, and original BMW exhaust so could well be, prehaps at an early age it was caked in crap that built up and rot :?

there was an IS for sale on here recently with 350k, not original engine, but shell didnt look too bad

Mileage goes up every time there's a post like this, although it wouldn't be far off 300k by now if it was still on the road.
Car in question is the red touring in my sig. It was clocked around 40k early in its life, and now has a true mileage of around 275k. It uses minimal oil between services, which are red LED + a week or two until I get around to it, consumes no coolant, performs exactly as it should on LPG, just has the common slight stutter around 2000RPM on petrol that afflicts many M20's, is used regularly for towing and generally thrashed.
It is currently 'resting' as the shell, as many of you will know, was written off by a flying porker around two and a half years ago.
It will possibly find its way into my cab soon, complete with LPG tank, as I'm less than impressed with the compression figures I've obtained from the current cab motor.

When I worked at a garage as a apprentise, there was a 525i E34 taxi that used our garage for all it's work servicing, repairs & mot's etc etc. Anyway before I left there it had 570,000 miles on the clock! The bloke had about 8 service books :chuckle:
I would love to know if it's still going!

I also have an E34 525i that I use as a tow car that has 228,000 miles on the clock. Vanos could do with attention, and a header tank of coolant lasts about three weeks, but other than that it's absolutely fine. I've found and dealt with two coolant leaks since I've had the thing, but it still consumes the stuff!

Our cabby has 103K I think with no history so its probably been clocked. Engine pulls very strong and has a quite top end and uses little oil and coolant.

Check the screws in the cluster, too see if they look like they've been tamperd with, no reason why it couldnt be genuine, cabby's wont have been cars that were bought to do alot of miles in. 103k of short journeys and what not can still make it "tatty" so to speak for the mileage

LHD... wasn't 270000 km was it? :P

mine has just tripped over the 180k mark this week. i've had it for over 5 years and have put only 4k per year on it! 8O that said, it has spent a lot of time laid up for various reasons over the years that i've had it.

people always start these threads thinking their car is mega high milege with 110k on their E30's!

what's the recognised 'average' annual milage for most cars? 12k or thereabouts?
at that rate, most E30's will be averaging around the 300k mark. anything sub 200k could be considered low mileage and i guess most of the mega mileage cars have expired - partly because the mileage combined with the 20 year old value slump all cars suffer made them nearly worthless for a while.

Not really, as this figure is greatly slewed by business mileage. Not that many reps. running E30s as their company car for a good many years now, I suspect.
I would guess that the average figure for private motorists is more like 6k.

True. A shame though, i'd love a E30 company car, it would be a lot less trouble than most of the company cars we've had at work!

170k passed last week, took it to an independent who knows his way around E30's and he was well chuffed with it, happy days!

Joy.
