Hi,

Getting the actual alloy refurbed is no problem at all, but how do people get the centre caps refurbed so they match?

Its my understanding all these refurb companys use powder coating, and this only works on metal?

Thanks

The centre cap is metal, the weave part is anyway, so that could be powder coated with the wheels. The centre nut is plastic so you could respray those with spray cans or I imagine the refurb place would be able to do them, I think getting the centre nuts chromed would be mint

Ah, I didnt know that bit was metal. That makes it a lot easier then!

Is there some sort of colour people get them coated?

I presume the original finish is a lot darker than modern shiny alloys?

Thanks

Mine were taken away to have refurbed on Saturday, due back tomorrow, the guy is doing tham in Titan Silver which he claims is very close to original and nice and shiny, there is another thread I started on here about colours.

He is also doing the centre cap and plastic nut all in for £175, this includes the inner face.

I'll post up pics when returned, he's mobile and covers Bristol, Exeter, Swindon and Glos.

I thought £175 was expensive as Rav knows a place which will do them for £20 per wheel.
