what annoys me with this current craze for 'panoramic screens / roofs' is the description. a panorama is a wide view of a scene, NOT a tall view! they are in fact a total contradiction!

Roof skin is just that, the structural members are the header rails and cant rails,so the main problem would be finding a manufacturer!
Be a bit warm in the summer,though...

some e30fansite.nl member quote about oem panoramic one below , translation via google translate:
"This hardtop is ever made to the IAA in Frankfurt I think.
Has one years or 3 / 4 ago stood on ebay.de for sale.
I then offered Euro 1400 but was unfortunately too little .."

probably, plus the glass will have all sorts of special coatings to try and reflect heat and uv, and the cars theyre fitted to will have aircon.
you already get a more panoramic view out of an e30 than most other things on the road with it's thin pillars and deep windows.
the idea of a glass roof doesnt appeal to me at all, and to do a proper custom job would cost many thousands of pounds i would imagine. plus on an e30 the roof blends into the pillars, there is no roof pannel as such. it would work better on an e36 or something where the roof flows from the top corners of the front screen to the top corners of the rear screen with a rubber trim / join line / door seal line

erm? Isn't the point of a covnertible that you can have a "natural" panoramic view in under 30 or so seconds?

What annoys me is those pedantic sorts that work themselves up over marketting gumpf!

I'm not wound up, maybe I phrased it badly but it's such a stupid way of describing it
The fact most people don't see the fundemental error in their terminology says a lot for the intelligence of their intended market.

Believe me, they are. Its like sitting in a green house. However most have a panel that covers over the glass from the inside.

An electric webasto roof like the Mini Open Classic or Polo Open Air would like quite cool on an E30, especially with colour coded fabric
I think...
