325i vert top speed?

Anyone know what the stock top speed is?

I have to fit some new tyres and the handbook is a little confusing between VR and V rated. The latter in 195/65 x 14 size are rare as rocking horse s**t and bloody expensive if you find some.

So will probably opt for H rated as don't plan on 130mph plus

Well when I go above 60mph and touch the brake pedal, my steering wheel starts vibrating quite badly. So I just imagine the steering wheel shaking uncontrollably if I was to go at those speeds.

Plus shes an old girl.

Sounds like disks or you bearings are mashed up. I had that problem for a bit, but it was cause my car sat for months and all the grease in my callipers got dried. I had to take the callipers back to Hi-Spec to have them stripped and done again.

I agree - I've done 80mph tops in mine and that's enough for me. You only have to pass a 12 wheeler or two and hear the racket that filters through the hood to scare you! 130mph - not a chance. Guess I'm safe to go with H rated then

I've taken my chrome 325i auto up to and over 135 over a sustained distance 50-60 miles at 5-6am on a bank holiday Monday.

The Alpina has been to 135. But since I have had 6 points on my licence I have learned to chill. OBC speed limit button is now known as my licence saver.

110 with the top down was a bit noisy ..even with a wind deflector..but it was still pulling nicely :o:

hence the chilled out bit. The Alpina did have a blow out coming back from the pod doing roughly 95mph. I heard a loud bang. thought that did not sound good assumed i had run over something pulled off at the next junction to discover the 8 week old rear left tyre completely flat. The car was absolutely stable afer the bang. I was quite shocked

I would love to hit 135 in the cab but as you guys said after about 80, it really does get noisy. And also the fear factor of having the roof fly off :?

Guess they are just cruisers 8)

The guy who built my engine has a track E30 with twin TVR engines and Noz. Lets just say it's very, very quick. He's sold it to Dips now who is going to put it in his cab. I cant wait for it winkeye

I've hit 110 on my 325 chromie coupe and the car seems to fly! Very smooth and obviously had alot more to give!

Thats before suspension mods and on bottletops!

Had a speedo indicated 110 <cough>km/h<cough> on the way up to Gaydon this year.

Admittedly, at that speed, a bit on the windy side (no wind deflector) and tbh didn't feel uber stable.

With the roof down at 80 I find it quite comfortable and easy to hear the stereo.

I can hear my stereo regardless of my speed winkeye

Just get a hardtop. You get the best of both Worlds then. Just make sure you bolt it down unlike me before you do those crazy speeds or yours might lift off like mine with the air bubble created inside especially if all your windows are closed.

I love taking the car for a spin in the summer with the roof down and you can easily hit well over a ton with no discomfort as far as road noice of vibrations of any kind. I even played with an old Lambo Countach before and he was shocked when i sat up his backside all the way

E30NutUk - what tyres are you running if you have bottletops? Are they V or H rated?? Bottletops only being 14inch seem a sod to find tyres for!

They came with the car when i bought it - I haven't really noticed but will check tonight.

I love the comfort level of bottletops at speed and normal driving speeds - I will miss it when i get new shoes for her!!!

I had a blow out in my laguna doing 125. It was the o/s/f.
All it done was dig in to the road and the steering went a bit stiff.
It was a proper pit stop move aswell, we had the new one on in less than 3 mins and back on the move before the law showed up.
