I saw a particularly nice E30 in Port Rush - Northern Ireland at the weekend, lowered with Alpinas, very shiny paint, couldn't see a mark on it anywhere!
Number plate had UP.U (it may have been an english plate actually, so could have been visiting.

It looked like a Dolphin Grey Sport.
I'm not from there, Brother in law moved there a few months ago so went out to see him.
I was hoping to get to the show and shine, but the wife wasn't too impressed so didn't go

It is but people are much more into performance cars in Ireland especially the north than they seem to be on the mainland UK.
You dont get half as many shitters on the roads over there.

Insurance has come down a lot here in the last few years. They've stopped paying out huge claims, gone are the days of Ԛ£20k payout in whiplash claims. Max they're paying is Ԛ£4-6k now.
I saw a seriously nice E30 320i in black heading towards Holywood the other day, again an english reg, H-reg I think it was. Looked like it'd just come out of the showroom. 30-something bloke driving it, baby chairs in the back.

Probably because the sport as we know it was a UK edition.

who you insured with jonny? its not costing me too much for insuring mine (when i get it) although i'm TPFT not Fully Comp, I'd rather save the extra Ԛ£1000 odd extra a year.

i found a years no claims does wonders for your premium, i'll be driving for 5 years next month and i'll have another years no claims so next years insurance should lighten my pocket by a little less than last years!
