Anyone Know this Stunner?!

Just saw this on P-Heads. Any zoners know it? I think it's gorgeous. Looks like the door had been changed at some point as the paintwork doesn' match the body.

What do you reckon on the asking price?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1379094.htm

Really tempted to buy a sport, but cabby taking up pride of place in garage. The lad's coming of age, so would like him to continue the e30 passion, but I've a feeling the insurance will be crippling!

Let me have your thoughts, please.

Cheers.

Naz.

Seems about right. Probably room to move though given the mileage. As ever buy on condition.

what's that in front of the passenger seat? :? and is that a tech1 steering wheel? it looks more like an SE version to me. looks like quite a tidy car in the pictures. i expect the n/s door has had some damage at some point so has been resprayed.

Looks nice, whats very rare about it though?

Not a great fan of TV monitors though, but some people like them

Hmm, must admit don't see what is rare about it, and I also think screens in the headrests are a bit naff. However, the pics seem to illustrate quite a nice looking car, but it could be a tarted up PIG!

Mileage is also a bit high for the price as there are other cars on PH that are going for much less.

Asked for more information. It's certainly interesting, or have I fallen for the shots?? :D

See what you mean about the "thing" on the floor infront of the front seat, Adit...?? Poor paint job on the replacement door. Probably, just swapped without painting at all.

Doesn't it P*** you off when someone doesn't do something for the sake of £18? Surely, it's worth doing the work to justify the asking price. That's my view, but there you go..

K dudes

I would tread very carefully, I bought a vehicle of this dude and had to spent 1900 to get it right.

If it only costs £18,why hasnt he done it???

I wanted to buy this one, but then seen the name and location and backed off

Yes, not spending £18 for the bit and less than a ton for the work, isn't much to do really. I'd have done the work and added it to the cost. Must admit doesn't sound a straight as it sounds.

I Think this is the same car that was advertised with black wheels earlier on and now is on with standard wheels seems a bit dodgy to me

Looks like both the N/S and O/S doors have been changed, so probably for rust issues, worth checking arches and inner wings etc for rust.

That's never a good sign! Especially, if it's true that the car's had £1k spent on it recently... After all, if your happy, you would expect to spend a little ££ to improve, but ultimately this is done with the view to hold on to it and enjoy for a bit.

Anyway, I don't think I'm being considered a serious buyer, as I've had no response to my email from the dude.

Was the car an E30, that had the engine blow?

if its for your sons first car, i think insurance is gonna be pretty crippling.

to give you an idea, at 18 it costs me £1866 to insure mine with 2 years bike no claims and 1500 miles policy. thats in jersey too.

thought about a 318is with m tech kit on?

When I come to power selling E30 turds that've been recently polished will be an offence which carries a prison sentence. :D

oh, and PacerPete would be judge, jury and Prison Officer all in one (although his jurisdiction would not extend into Scotland as he thinks all Scottish E30s are rusty turds).

an email is hardly a serious way of contacting a seller esp for a car! about as serious as a text.

I took one look at the advert, pictures, location, name, front arch lip pulled out by a big drop on standard springs it all tells you what need to know about the car

Topblag, you'd get my vote, mate! Hahahah.

simon13, the means of communication were a telephone number or email. If I didn't have my doubts, I'd have made the trip to Nottingham and it would be sitting in the garage now (if it was good enough). An email isn't a bad initial contact to try and achieve a "relationship" with the seller. This of course is important to me, because I won't buy a car from an abnoxious P****. No matter how nice the car is. Thankfully still plenty around. Also, this gives you a feel for how it may have been treated, see images etc before making, what for me would be a 3 hour trip.

As a seller, I'd be replying to all enquiries - especially if he's that desperate to shift it, and you never know where the sale will come from. :D Actual callers wasting my time would be the annoying ones.

I also made the same assessment as you did, with the same conclusion. Still wanted Zoner comments, though! :D

This is so obviously a polished turd....

The polished turd we've been discussing has been sold! :hammer:

I hope it's not to a zoner, but I'll be watching to see any newbie asking questions to help!

:D
