14''BBS were available as an option on some versions, often found on late tourings with M40.

I've never found 14" BBS on a touring - I have several Lux models, and they all have 15".
AFAIK, the only model with 14" as standard was the iS.

Some late 320i and 325i SE saloons had 14" BBS as astandard as did some 316i and 318i Lux saloons.
Very early tech 1 325i Sports had 14" BBS as well but this is rare.

My 325i sedan had 14" BBS 6&1/2" rims fitted from factory. This wider rim was optional as far as I understand. Usually the 325i sedans in Australia came with the 14x6 BBS as standard fitment.
ISes didn't have the 14s as standard, or, if they did, there was a time when they didn't - Andyboy put me right on this a while ago when I made the same statement. They came standard on steels with an iS apecific wheeltrim - the 8(?)-hole one that you see very rarely.
Late model M40 Lux tourings usually have the 15s as Brian says.
89/90 lux saloons often have the BBS 14s, but really there is no hard and fast rule to anything - BMW would supply you with pretty much any spec you wanted as long as you paid for it, they're not like fords where a different seat cloth results in a stupid badge on the bootlid proclaiming it as something special.

Ok - that answers my question - thanks! so they could have pretty much of had whatever combination of options you wanted from bmw when they were new from the sounds of it!djk wrote:ISes didn't have the 14s as standard, or, if they did, there was a time when they didn't - Andyboy put me right on this a while ago when I made the same statement. For example, you could not get cardinal red or indigo blue leather in a touring.
Ah yes i forgot about the wheel trim.djk wrote:ISes didn't have the 14s as standard, or, if they did, there was a time when they didn't - Andyboy put me right on this a while ago when I made the same statement. so 14" bbs are quite rare then.. my iS was fitted with bottletops.
I always thought a set of e36 15" bottletops on a 5 stud converted e30 would look good.. they are a very light wheel to boot, but they do cornflake very easily as I found out once..

No iS should come with bottle tops. Steels, 14" or 15" BBS only.Barx325i wrote:so 14" bbs are quite rare then.. my iS was fitted with bottletops.

Maybe it had steels originaly and someone put bottletops on it at some point.
