water vapor jet

hi! i've got this bottle from my friend and i'm going to make some experiments on that. do U guys have any idea of this "water vapor jet"?

i've found their website:

http://www.invoauto.co.uk/Products/Wate ... or_jet.htm

they suggested to connect this bottle to the vaccuum hose, say, a by-pass from the vaccuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator to the air inlet. then...
would it be a kind of "air leaking" in between the fuel pressure regulator and the inlet manifold??

any idea?

Thanks

Aron

Looks like a load of crap to me.

wow!! then a kind of lean burn for the engine also??

:wtf:

How, What, Why??

well... in detail, i still need to find out but...

according to their suggestion, we need to connect the vaccuum hose to the bottle and hence to "suck" the water vapour. therefore there must be some "extra" air runs into the inlet manifold which is NOT count by the air flow meter and i think this would mess up the calculation of the sensor and a lean burn may appear.

correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks!

mmmmmmmmmmm :bs:

Car will probably go like this once fitted ---> :crutch:

hahahahaha~~ i like that icon!!!

according to my limited knowledge, lean burn is not good for engine in some way.

Wter jets have been around for years, mostly on rallying and racing high pressure turbos though, it ceeps the engine cool internally and also burns when the engines get to high temp fuelling the car with more oxygen and hydrogen! Obviously only in small amounts thugh. It usually has a whole water misting or injection system and it's own ecu. I'll try and dig out my book with it in.

Is'nt this some form of water injection? I seem to remember it being bandied about a few years back, mainly for turbo cars.

(bloody brain cells not working - Friday - want to go home... maybe I'll remember more then!)

Ahh - Found this:

The main function of these systems
is to suppress detonation caused by
high temperature and pressure developed
within the combustion chamber when
the effective compression ratio has
been taken beyond the auto-ignition point
by either a turbo or a supercharger.
Water, with its high latent heat content,
is extremely effective for controlling
not only the onset of detonation but also the
production of oxides of nitrogen in
the modern leanburn engines.

Probably not a good idea in a 20 odd year old design then.

Yeah, water injection/aqua mist is one thing, but mainly used on Turbo'd cars to keep the inlet air temp at some sort of constant and I think also to reduce the peak combustion temp.
I think Escort Cossies had water injection as standard??

This thing seems to just want to suck some water in :? I cant see how that will help. Surely, if this was to work on a NA engine it would still need some sort ECU management and a way of injecting a fine mist of water.

EDIT - spoon, you beat me to it, nice find 8)

Is that + P&P and VAT?

Adam do you know what thread the sump plugs are? Cheers

Also when the water vapour is subjected to that much heat the steam coming off from that increases the amount of gas present in the cylinder creating more power..

Apparently..

Or something...
