how do i tell

ive bought a 325 that has supposedly been chipped .. how do i find out if the seller was telling porkies .. ?

ive not driven a standard one and this one is an auto so slower then a standard manual neway :P

just wanna find out if he was or wasnt lying really

Pull the ecu lid off and see what is inside

and thats why i should use the search tool its above my right knee and i need to drop the trim under the steering wheel

ok well the chip in this one says m20b25 alpina 192bhp



now that is a wild claim for a m20b25 which i guess is otherwise standard but i would kinda like to get it on a RR to see what it actually makes lol

it's probably a clone of the alpina chip but unless you have the 6 branch manifold, head work and cam to go with it, 192bhp is just a tad unlikely

not unlikely but optimistic you never know he could have although i highly doubt it!

if it's 'been chipped' then that suggests it's not been worked over by alpina or similar

if 192bhp could be achieved with a chip alone, not many folks would go to the effort of fitting a 24V m50 to get that power....

somtimes depensing on the chip people put a sticker on the ecu.
