is scratched. Does anybody know of a method to polish out the scratches like as in buffing a scratch out of the lacquer in paint?

you can buy a power that you put with a little water to polish scratches out of glass but if its too deep like on paint you have nop chance. if your with a good insurance company you can get a new genuine screen seal and insert and it only cost me a £50 excess i did end up fitting the screen myself because the window was struggling

I just pulled a tidy screen out of a breaker at a local scrapyard for £7.50.

Removing the windscreen on an E30 is stupidly easy and fitting is the same, the only bother is getting the beeding back in the middle of the rubber. I'm just waiting for a spare minute in the day when I can get the the local motorfactor to buy the little roller tool needed to fit the beeding back.
