just had my first MOT failure in the E30.

Last 2 years she has flown through her MOT's, last year she only needed a wiper blade, this year, big fat FAIL with some welding, exhaust brackets and the biggie - rear subframe bushes needing doing.

Not best pleased when I recently spent £700 on bodywork and respraying a few bits - had I known I would have saved my pennies for the garage bill I shall soon be facing! 8O

Came home to see the husband looking at M3s and suggesting the scrappage scheme .... LOL

Surely it cant be that bad!! Im sure there is a Zoner close to you who could help out.....
Gaffa tape is like "the force" - it has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffer tap

Tyra,Brian Moore lives out your way so maybe you could negotiate the `E30 God` to help you out?
Failing that I could do the bushes and exhaust brackets if you fancy travelling further afield?

I would say welding should cause more worries than rear subframe bushes surely?

the welding is not too big - just a little hole in the floor so not too bad in the grand scheme of things

Thank you for all the offers of help! She is booked in to be sorted on Monday - she certainly won't be scrapped! (have you seen the cost of a new M3? lol  )
