The E30 is considered a "modern classic" really. But it qualifies for classic car insurance here in the UK.
I think you need to check at your end on their definition of a "classic car" as it doesn't matter how the car is categorised here or in the USA etc, if your own powers that be don't recognise it as a classic then you will struggle.
Welcome to the forum by the way!

irie rasta, me tinks you'll find dat a 91 E30 wont be a classic you should look at models such as the 333i, M3, 320IS as these be da limited editions dready

Yes i am from jamaica and still living here. We have been in contacts with the classic car group here in jamaica and they say that all i need is any form of documnetation stating that it is catergorised as classic or limited edition. My brother wants to import a vw corrado VW themselve made a release in March 1995 stating that the car is a classic. Is there any such documentation for the E30

i cannot see it being too hard to go to your local BMW dealer and ask them to write you a letter to say the E30 is no longer in production, and as such the car is now considered classic.
they will charge you to write the letter but not too much.
i had to do a similar thing when i brought my cab to bahrain, they charged me about 20 dollars and wrote what i asked them to.
