ive come across abit of a barn find, e30 cab apparently a h27. the car itself is in a pretty rough condition as its sat for about 10years, its got the engine, exhaust. but is there anyway of telling if this is the proper job. as i thinking of either fixing it up or break for parts. any info would be very helpful :D

Chances are if its got engine with rocker cover and exhaust, then its pukka. Has it got stripes and wheels etc and badges???
Pics would be useless, but im sure the Hartge boys will tell you more.

check underneath for blue anti-roll bars, bilstein shocks and LSD

has it got Hartge badges on the grille, bootlid and clocks ? also Hartge marked 6 branch/tailpipe and valve cover , any spoilers ? what wheels are fitted? are there any Gauges fitted in the centre console ?

pictures would be great ! :)

Sweet, post some pics up! At the very least it should have...

H27 Engine, Hartge cam cover, Hartge 6 branch manifold & exhaust system, Hartge strut brace, Hartge 16" alloys, genuine complete bodykit and possibly decals. Other tell tails signs and probably confirming its more likely the real deal would be, Hartge/bilstein shocks and springs, Adjustable Arbs, Hartge gauge pod, Hartge instrument cluster, Hartge ecu, Hartge plaque (if German conversion, Birds uk didn't put any on theirs), also other bits of tat like steering wheel gearsick knob and floor mats and correct period badging would help it's identity. If i think of anymore i'll update. If it turns out to be the real deal, please do not break it!!! Ragtop Hartge's are rare old beasts.

No idea, unlike Alpina Hartge were pretty rubbish at documenting what conversions they did. I only know of one H27 cab and as mentioned it belongs to Hartgeh27 on here, a nice thing it is too

Tibbsie, there was only one RHD H27 built although a fella named Bloomeister is recreating another as far as I know. What you have found is very interesting and worth 'obtaining'..... Birds records are very sketchy but if it has the bits on it then its worth getting, without a shadow of a doubt.

Feel free to call me on 07810 650 395 and we can talk more fella.

Just get it !!!!!!!

:D

Will be worth a fortune if it's not rotten and restored to a high standard!!!

Birds only made one RHD Hartge 2.7 Convertible and that information came from both records and Kevin Bird himself.

There were some LHD made in Germany, I would imagine this is a cab loaded with Hartge goodies but not an original Hartge build. The existing H27's location is known and fully documented.

HTH

Ah well... will still be a very sweet car when done :D

Better to have a fully loaded Hartge rep than a fancy 318i cab Motorsport rep, lol.

I found out about this earlier this evening from Iain (hartgeH27). That H26 was mine and sold it back in 2003 to some guy from Cork. Last i heard it was written off according to Ant...would love to know more details on this, i.e what happened and what work needs doing. I certainly sold it to him not needing a full resto!!

the owner is a really nice guy and is shortly starting work on getting it roadworthy sounds like it will be a restoration where the car will be kept standard :)

it is still on the same english plate's and has been stored since he bought it from you (he works away on oil rigs)
the interior is immaculate still , but the body needs some care and so do the oily bits
he will be sending me pics

That's brilliant.

It was some other 2.7 engine and iS shell I heard buried so :(
worst thing was he was only asking something like 700 for the lot and when I rang him back about it, he said they were buried... some people!!!

Get the new owner of the Hartge to join up on E30owners over here too as some more special E30s will be nice for meets over here :D
